(1) Pre-departure checks for vessel preparedness.
(2) Communication is clear, concise and acknowledged during operations & emergencies.
(3) Smooth controlled application of propulsion with helm while underway and when manoeuvring.
(4) Anticipating & countering drift from wind & current to maintain a steady course and stay in safe water.
(5) Maintain a safe operating speed appropriate to vessel capability & to prevent environmental damage.
Use of appropriate communication to brief and direct crew while completing the tasks below:
(1) Manoeuvre the vessel in a safe manner to berth alongside a wharf.		, Obs. and question Workplace ref.
(2) Manoeuvre the vessel in the correct manner to approach an anchorage, let go and weigh anchor		Obs. and question Workplace ref.
