CATHIE LAGOON......... (1200 wide X 900 high Oil) ......Back to gallery

For most of the year Lake Cathie (pronounced “cat eye” to fool strangers) is trapped from its seaward escape by dunes. In December, bull dozers plough out a furrow to the Pacific Ocean and the sea and the holiday makers tumble in. For a short spell along Christmas Bell Plain the pink flowers mass, and along the strand bright beach umbrellas blossom.
